Auxilia was started by experienced technology executive and angel investor Georgie Smallwood.

 

Like many women, Georgie was increasingly frustrated with the state of funding to diverse founders around the world and the naive and simplistic responses she received when she asked why.

BUT...the world is changing, diverse voices are yelling to be heard and we need to seize this momentum.

As more women reach visible positions of power, it creates a virtuous cycle, normalising the association of women and leadership for future generations. The role-model effect is already visible: countries with higher levels of women in political power also tend to have higher levels of women in business leadership.

 

Together, we are the strongest tool available to us to lift other women up and change this statistic.

 

Auxilia is built on the belief that society must nurture innovation from a larger representation of society.

 

With women making up 50% of the world's population, it is horrifying that more than 87% of EU startup funding goes to all-male founding teams and only 15% of all VC General Partners in Europe are women.

Auxilia exists as a place for Women who are Founders, are interested in Founding/co-founding, or want to join early-stage teams as well as women who are Investors or are interested in becoming Investors.

 

Targeted at women with 4yrs + of professional experience we will discuss, debate and connect with the purpose of increasing awareness and funding for female-founded, tech-enabled businesses.
